Under this Responsible Care mentorship program, Dow India volunteered to mentor Viswaat Chemicals Ltd, which is a mid-sized Indian speciality chemicals producer for paint, pharma, construction, cosmetics, leather and textile Industries.

Neeraj Jain has been mentoring Viswaat, for almost three years on behalf of Dow India. He has been working with Viswaat on implementing Responsible Care Codes and upgrading their EH&S standards. In January 2018, the ICC Responsible Care Audit team carried out an audit at Viswaat and granted permission for use of Responsible Care logo. “It has been a great learning experience for us to see how a company with very basic EH&S programs, transformed with the right support and managed to enter the niche club of prestigious Responsible Care-certified companies in India,” said Jain. “Dow India plans to continue this effort to build momentum in the industry.”

Sudhir Shenoy, president, Dow India added: “As more mid-sized local companies start to achieve Responsible Care certification, it creates a favorable ecosystem to force the entire industry to upgrade. We are truly living up to our 2025 Sustainability Goals by leading the blueprint.”
